Exactly why Is Bar-b-queuing So Well-liked

Barbecuing has become an American tradition  Statistically it's shown that 90% of families participate in at least one barbecue gathering every year. As well, around 40% of families regularly organised parties centered around barbecuing  With statistics like that, one must wonder why barbecuing is such a popular event and tradition.

First, barbecuing or grilling allows you to create a meal that is unmatched by any other type of cooking. Every one I know starts to salivate at the first whiff of a steak grilling on a barbecue.

Barbecuing is suitable for any type of meat. There are many tasty side dishes that are also easily created on a barbecue grill. Fish, pork and beef are the most popular but don't forget the lamb and chicken. When visiting your local grocery store, look for meats that are specifically cut and packaged for barbecuing  If you do not find pre packaged meats, then chances are spices, marinates, and other kits for grilling are somewhere near by.

Traditional side dishes include potato salad, beans, and coleslaw. These sides work well with the variety of meats available and are easy to prepare and store until it is time to eat.

A condiment bar should have pickles, relish and onions.

Different types of grills will present different types of flavors. The grilled 'smoked' flavor is probably one of the most well known flavors and favorite of barbecuing  With a smoker barbecue you can have fun getting different flavors in your meat by simply changing the type of wood you use. Alternatively, propane grills allow grilles to cook their meals faster, but still have a grilled flavor.

Some grills have the ability to come with many different types of cooking surfaces. The most common versions are a brazier, which is basically a thin wire grill that sits above the charcoals, a flat grill and a rib grilled. For even more types of food cooking options these surfaces are also available as non-stick. By planning correctly you should be able to cook an entire meal, even the side dishes, on the barbecue.

There are all sorts of options available for cooking on the barbecue  Examples include a wok surface for doing stir fry and rice dishes or a rotisserie set for a yummy rotisserie chicken.

Barbecuing is a great reason to invite friends over or just to have a party which is another reason it might be so popular.

Not much can beat having a beer and chatting with friends while you are actually cooking the meal.

Barbecues also tie in well with a themed party. Throw up a few festive decorations which can be purchased cheaply from a party or general store. Try purchasing decorations that can be stored and re-used later such as Tiki torches or table cloths. Have a clambake with tropical music, throw some sand around to give it that real beach feel.

On a final note barbecuing might be popular because many people consider it to be a hobby in it's own right. Barbecuing  like anything else in life, takes time and practice. if you experiment with recipes, techniques and different styles of barbecues you will make it more interesting and fun. Learn and master the basics first and then you can develop your own unique style.
